Tom Ford’s Five Rules for a Gentleman

Now don’t get me wrong, Tom Ford is obviously a good designer and his brand is pretty good – but he’s been let down by a piss poor commercial, high street showing. When Debenhams is stocking your goods you know you’ve gone too far and sold out to the almight dollar.

But he knows how to be a top geezer:

1. You should put on the best version of yourself when you go out in the world because that is a show of respect to the other people around you.

2. A gentleman today has to work. People who do not work are so boring and are usually bored. You have to be passionate, you have to be engaged and you have to be contributing to the world.

3. Manners are very important and actually knowing when things are appropriate. I always open doors for women, I carry their coat, I make sure that they’re walking on the inside of the street. Stand up when people arrive at and leave the dinner table.

4. Don’t be pretentious or racist or sexist or judge people by their background.

5. A man should never wear shorts in the city. Flip-flops and shorts in the city are never appropriate. Shorts should only be worn on the tennis court or on the beach.

The only one I kind of disagree with is number 5, it gets hot in the city Mr Ford and the sweatiness of my balls is quite a high priority.

Stussy – Beat Down in London Town

Always nice to see local spots on video, especially when its the Stussy guys larking about. This is the life isn’t it, BBQ’s, tagging and drinking – perfect combination for a night in the cells.

EDWIN Factory Tour

What a coincidence that a day after I purchase some new selvedge, I nice little video appears showing me where they were stitched together. Thankfully there’s no Vietnamese children making a starring role.

TOMS Eyewear

TOMS is a great business/charity. You buy a pair of shoes and they give a pair of shoes to a needy pair of feet (that’s a lot of pairs). Now TOMS are moving into the eyewear game, bringing along a nice set of Wayfarers and Aviators that, if you buy, will magically transform into a unicorn mean a set of glasses, treatment or medication for someone less fortunate than you.

Incase x CSC – Soccer Bag

I’ll admit it…women have handbags to amass, real men have backpacks to lust over. This is definitely one of those times when spending $200 on a bag I’d gladly just stash away is completely justified.

Created by the guys at ChinaTown Soccer Club – a group of dudes who have more swag in their little fingers than Kanye and Pharrell put together – and the nice people at Incase, they’ve managed to bring two of my geeky passions together; football and tech. Compartments for your boots and a 17″ Macbook Pro are just some of the features it brings to the party.

If only I had the dollar to spend…oh well.

PUMA x Fuseproject – Packaging

PUMA and some dude named Bob Yves Béhar have come up with a pretty innovative and eco-friendly way of replacing the standard shoe-box.

It now looks like a fancy Tesco carrier bag with a little bit of cardboard in, who says this designing lark is hard?

Lacoste x Bodega Esteban

By Saturday afternoon I’m going to be £89.95 poorer that’s if those Scottish peeps at Hanon get their ass in gear and pick up some 12s.

These are some of the freshest Lacoste kicks I’ve seen in a while, and if you haven’t seen the Bodega store in the US then have a look here. Might just have to steal their idea for a nice London locale.

Nike Auto Flight 2010 Spring Dark Grey/Electric Green

I’m a big fan of the Swoosh…and an even bigger fan of the electric green and black colourway. The Air Pegasus ’89 already rocked the colours, and now its the turn of the Auto Flight.

Still searching for a release point in the UK, but the lucky bastards people over at Wish will have them for the ATL scene.

CLOT x Star Wars x adidas Originals “Hoth” Super Skate High

Following on from every other possible Star Wars x addidas sneaker mash up comes these Super Skate High’s. I haven’t really been feeling thos collab, although the Forum Mids AT-AT are OK I suppose.

But what I do like is the LEGO. Anything with LEGO and I’m interested. Brings me back to when I was about 9 or 10 when my bro demolished a Cowboy fort with a football…bad times. I got revenge.

Anyways, these are available along with a Star Wars x adidas tee and should be out around March 20th.

Nike Mercurial Superfly II

I missed these babd boys when the first pics and info was released at the back end of February.

‘The Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly II football boots were unveiled by Cristiano Ronaldo, at an elaborate show in front of London’s iconic Battersea Power Station. They are the boots the football superstar will wear for the rest of the domestic season and at the World Cup’

The mercurials have been my favourite boots along with the Total 90s for the last few years, and my man-crush on Ronaldo is still there, even though he joined the bastards galacticos over in Madrid. Decisons, decisions.
